Miami Neuroscience Center to Participate in the 14th Annual Pain Medicine Meeting

On November 19th, 2015, the Miami Neuroscience Center at Larkin will make podium and poster presentations at the 14th Annual Pain Medicine Meeting at the Fontainebleu Miami Beach—one of the most important meetings for Pain Management in the United States. These presentations explain the unique strategies needed to manage trigeminal neuralgia due to multiple sclerosis. They will be given in collaboration with the Larkin Community Hospital Anesthesiology Department, and mark the first time the team has been invited to be part of the scientific committee.


Our team’s presentations are:

  • Efficacy of Gamma Knife Radiosurgery and retrograssian balloon compression in TNA refractory for prior GKRS. Co-Authors: Andres Alvarez, Luciana Curia, Jose Valerio, Juan Cucalon, Aizik Wolf.
  • Outcomes after Minimally Invasive Surgical Treatment of Intractable Facial Pain from Trigeminal Neuralgia in patients with Multiple Sclerosis. Co-Authors: Luciana M. Curia, Andres Alvarez, Norvan Vartevan, Jose Valerio, Juan Carlos Cucalon.
  • Prospective, observational, clinical study evaluating the efficacy of percutaneous retrograsean balloon compression for the treatment of primary Trigeminal Neuralgia. Co-Authors: Luciana M. Curia, Andres Alvarez, Aizik Wolf, Roberto E. Fernandez, Juan Cucalon, Jose Valerio.
